BAKERSFIELD, CA - The Bakersfield College men's soccer team picked up a solid road victory Tuesday afternoon, defeating Citrus College 3-1 in Glendora. The win improves the Renegades to 9-4-4 overall and 3-1-1 in conference play.
BC wasted no time getting on the board as Jonathan Garcia scored in the 3rd minute to give the Renegades an early lead. Citrus answered back with a goal in the 15th minute, but Bakersfield quickly regained control when Javier Villatoro found the back of the net in the 21st minute off an assist from Luis Gil.
In the second half, Gil added a goal of his own in the 60th minute to seal the win. Bakersfield dominated offensively, outshooting Citrus 18-5 and earning nine corner kicks.
Goalkeeper Brian Ruvalcaba recorded three saves in the match to keep the Renegades ahead.
BC heads out for another road match on Friday against Antelope Valley before returning home next week for two matches.
