EL CAMINO, CA. - The Bakersfield College swim teams turned in a strong showing at the 2026 El Camino Triple Distance Invite, with the women placing fifth overall and the men finishing third with eight teams total competing.
Men – 3rd Place
The BC men captured third overall and were powered by two Triple Distance Champions.
Jacob Zimmerman dominated the sprint freestyle events, winning the 50 Free, 100 Free, and 200 Free to earn Sprint Freestyle Triple Distance Champion honors. David Hernandez was equally impressive in backstroke, sweeping the 50 Back, 100 Back, and 200 Back to claim Backstroke Triple Distance Champion.
The 200 Medley Relay team of Hernandez, Luke Butterworth, Zimmerman, and Nicolas Lira placed fifth, while the 200 Free Relay quartet of Zimmerman, Hernandez, Lira, and Manuel Castro finished fourth.
Nicolas Lira added valuable points with a second-place finish in the 100 Free, third in the 200 Free, and third in the 500 Free.
With multiple podium finishes and two triple-distance champions, the Renegades showcased both depth and dominance as they continue to build momentum this season.
Women – 5th Place
The Renegade women delivered multiple top-six finishes, highlighted by standout individual and relay performances.
In relay action, the 200 Medley Relay team of Audrey Vickers, Lilli Dorsett, Zoe Neri, and Madelyne Pulido placed fifth, while the 200 Free Relay squad of Pulido, Vickers, Megan Dudley, and Neri finished sixth.
Lilli Dorsett led the way individually with an impressive triple-distance showing, placing second in the 200 IM, third in the 100 IM, and third in the 300 IM. Audrey Vickers added depth across multiple freestyle events, taking sixth in the 100 Free, sixth in the 200 Free, and fifth in the 500 Free.
Megan Dudley sprinted to a third-place finish in the 100 Free and placed fourth in the 200 Free, while Zoe Neri had a strong butterfly lineup, finishing fifth in the 50 Fly, fourth in the 100 Fly, and fifth in the 200 Fly.
Madelyne Pulido contributed across several events, including a fifth-place finish in the 50 Free, sixth in the 100 Free, and a third-place performance in the 200 Free.
