BAKERSFIELD, CA. - Bakersfield College men's swimming continues to make waves at the state level as sophomore David Hernandez and freshman Jacob Zimmerman have been named 2026 3C2A Swimming All-Americans following outstanding performances throughout the championship season.
The 3C2A Swimming & Diving All-American List honors the most outstanding student-athletes who produced the fastest performances in California Community College swimming during the season. Selected from competitors throughout the California Community College Athletic Association (3C2A), the recognition represents one of the highest individual honors in two-year college swimming.
Times used for All-American consideration may only come from conference championship and state championship competition. The 3C2A is widely regarded as one of the strongest junior college athletic associations in the nation, making All-American status a testament to excellence at the highest level of California community college swimming.
David Hernandez Earns Three All-American Selections
Hernandez delivered lifetime-best performances in all three of his individual events at the 3C2A State Championships while rewriting the Renegade record book. He placed 12th in the 200 Individual Medley, sixth in the 100 Backstroke, and seventh in the 200 Backstroke. His performances in both backstroke events resulted in new Bakersfield College school records.
