BAKERSFIELD, CA- For the first time in Bakersfield College school's history, the Reneagdes men's tennis team won a Western State Conference match against the Ventura Pirates 5-4. The Renegades ended VC's 35-match winning streak and claimed the first ever Western State Conference title.
Bakersfield started strong winning two of the three doubles matches. The deciding match came when Shang En Kao went to a third set tie-breaker to win it for the Renegades.
With the win, BC is 11-6 overall and 4-1 in WSC play. Bakersfield will play its final conference match at Santa Barbara on Thursday Mar. 26.
