BAKERSFIELD, CA - The Renegades were led by a dominant distance performance from freshman Edgar Gil, who captured the 3,000m steeplechase title in a personal-record 11:18.95. Gil also doubled back in the 3,000 meters, placing ninth in another PR effort (9:20.88). Jacob Quezeda added a runner-up finish in the 800 meters with a PR time of 1:58.25 and placed sixth in the 1500 meters (4:13.25 PR), giving BC a strong presence in the mid-distance events.
In the sprints, Angel Corona turned in a pair of personal bests, highlighted by a fifth-place finish in the 100 meters (11.37 PR) and an 11th-place showing in the 200 meters (23.39 PR). Joaquin Garcia also impressed, running a PR 52.49 in the 400 meters to place 10th while contributing to the 4x400 relay team's sixth-place finish.
In the field, Mason Level delivered one of the top performances of the meet with a third-place finish in the hammer throw (43.70m) and added a fifth-place PR mark in the discus (39.47m), rounding out a strong day for the Renegades' top men's performers.
