Renegades Punch Ticket to State at SoCal Regionals

BAKERSFIELD, CA - The Bakersfield College men's and women's cross country teams delivered strong performances at the 2025 SoCal Regional Championships, earning their place among the top 16 programs advancing to the 3C2A State Championships in Fresno on November 22.

On the men's side, the Renegades secured a 14th-place team finish with 364 points, clinching their spot at state. Freshman Edgar Gil led the charge for BC, crossing the line in 21:21 to finish 40th overall. He was closely followed by Alexis Aguilar (22:06), Daniel Cuevas (22:13), Antonio Torres (22:25), Jacob Quezada (22:32), William Hernandez (23:22), and Orlando Zuniga (23:38) — a consistent pack effort that propelled the Renegades into the state field.

The BC women's team matched that success, placing 13th overall with 295 points to earn their own trip to Fresno. Freshman Sofia Moody led the Renegades with a standout performance, finishing in 20:06 to place 28th overall. The Renegades' scoring pack also included Addyson Eggers (21:09), Ashley Pitter (21:41), Daniela Garcia (21:48), and Jennifer Salinas (21:52), with strong support from Mia Leisenfelder (22:50) and Alexis Lopez (23:02) rounding out the lineup.

Both teams will now turn their focus to the 3C2A State Championships at Woodward Park in Fresno, where the top programs from across California will compete for the ultimate prize.
