BC SOFTBALL CAN'T FIND WIN AGAINST COS

BC couldn't find the holes against COS, and when they did, they were on defense.

The Bakersfield College softball team (2-3) lost to College of the Sequoias (3-2) 8-0 in six innings Tuesday at the Dean and Adah Gay Sports Complex.

"We got outplayed. We made six errors, which led to four unearned runs, and it's hard to win softball games when you don't play defense and you don't hit the ball," Coach Christie Hill said.

BC was held to just four hits, a walk, and a hit batter, but stranded all six baserunners.

"Both of our pitchers peformed well, but we didn't play well behind them," Coach Hill said, "This tells me we need to be much more mindful on defense."

The lone bright spot for BC came from freshman relief pitcher Marina Felipe, who faced 12 batters, and gave up only two hits and a walk, while striking out four.

The Lady Gades play next on Friday at Cuesta College in a doubleheader at Noon and 2pm, they return home Saturday to play Santiago Canyon in a doubleheader at 1p and 3p in the Dean and Adah Gay Sports Complex at Bakersfield College.
