Renegades Sweep Road Doubleheader at El Camino

TORRANCE, CA - Bakersfield softball completed a road sweep over El Camino College on Saturday, using a dominant offensive performance in game one before grinding out a close victory in game two.

In the opener, the Renegades rolled to a 12-1 win in five innings behind a balanced offensive attack and a complete-game performance from Cassidy Torres in the circle. Bakersfield scored in four of the five innings, including a five-run fifth inning to put the game away.

Isabella Harrison scored three runs and reached base twice, while Lexi Rolin went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs scored. Alexia Marquez added two hits, three runs scored and an RBI, while Andrea Barajas drove in three runs on two hits. Alexia Martinez also collected two RBIs in the victory.

Torres earned the win after allowing just one run on three hits across five innings.

Game two was much tighter, but Bakersfield found a way to complete the sweep with a 2-1 victory. After trailing 1-0 entering the sixth inning, the Renegades broke through when Elizabeth Alderete delivered a clutch two-run triple to drive in both runs.

Alexia Marquez finished game two with two hits, while Alexia Martinez helped herself with a hit and scored one of Bakersfield's two runs.

Martinez was outstanding in the circle, tossing a complete game and allowing just one unearned run on five hits while striking out two to earn her eighth win of the season.
