BAKERSFIELD, CA -Bakersfield College once again proved to be one of the nation's top supporters of the annual Play4Kay fundraiser, leading all junior college and community college programs in fundraising efforts.

Head coach Grant Bingham represented the Renegades at the annual luncheon held during the NCAA Final Four.

According to the official release from the Kay Yow Cancer Fund, Bakersfield College was named a two-time recipient of the National JUCO Play4Kay Award after once again rallying its campus and community around the fight against cancer.

As a member of the California Community College Athletic Association, Bakersfield College joined programs across the country in supporting the Play4Kay movement, uniting athletes, coaches and fans to raise awareness and funding for cancers affecting women.

Through its dedication, community involvement and continued fundraising success, Bakersfield College exemplified the mission of the Kay Yow Cancer Fund and its message: "Louder. Stronger. Unstoppable…Together."

"I continue to be astounded by the support our Bakersfield community shows for the Kay Yow Cancer Fund's mission to fight all cancers affecting women," said Bingham. "Our team, led by our Kay Yow Servant Leader, rallied behind our goal of making an impact for the second year in a row, and they did just that. I am incredibly proud of how our program and its supporters continue to pour into this cause."
