BAKERSFIELD, CA - The Bakersfield College women's golf team competed Monday at Olivas Links in Ventura. The team finished 3rd out of 9 teams with a solid score of 383. Leading the way was sophomore captain Ivana Escobar, carding an 89; a huge step forward from last season.

The conditions were challenging with strong winds and fast greens, but the team battled through and showed how much their hard work over the summer has paid off. "I'm extremely proud of their growth and the way they opened the season," said Head Coach Nick Kaiser.

The Renegades will enjoy their holiday weekend and get back to the greens the following Monday, September 8th for WSC #2 at Santa Barbara Golf Club.
