BAKERSFIELD, CA—The Bakersfield College wrestling team opened its season by hosting the 2025 BC Dual Tournament. Five teams were in attendance, and the Renegades squared off against Moorpark and Cerritos College A team.

In their opening dual against Moorpark, the Renegades came away with several impressive wins. Luis Acosta-Tackett (149) secured a fall in 4:33, Brendon Ko (157) earned a tight 10-9 decision, Camden Williams (165) posted a fall in 3:40, and Giovanni Ruiz (184) added another pin in just 3:25. Despite the strong performances, Moorpark edged out BC with a 28–21 team score.

The Renegades then faced a powerhouse in Cerritos College A, where the Gades battled but ultimately dropped the dual, 54–6. BC's lone team points came at heavyweight as Jonathan Garcia (285) picked up a forfeit win.

The Renegades will look to build on their early-season matches as they continue to develop and prepare for the rest of the tournament schedule.
