BAKERSFIELD, CA - The Bakersfield College men's wrestling team put together a strong showing on Sophomore night, going head-to-head with Lemoore College in an intense dual that featured several standout performances from both programs.
The Renegades earned five individual victories on the night, highlighted by dominant efforts from Santana Ugues (141 lbs) and Jonathan Garcia (285 lbs), who each recorded first-period falls. Brendon Ko (149 lbs) delivered an impressive technical fall, blanking his opponent 15-0, while Giovanni Ruiz (165 lbs) battled through for a hard-fought 7-2 decision. Elijah Guzman (174 lbs) also picked up a key win with a major decision, 13-5.
Despite Bakersfield's strong performances, Lemoore capitalized on several pins and close decisions to edge out the Renegades overall.
