SIERRA, CA - The Bakersfield College wrestling team capped off its season with a strong showing at the 2025 3C2A Wrestling State Championships, finishing 10th overall as a team against the top programs in the state.

The Renegades were led by heavyweight Jonathan Garcia, who earned All-American honors with a second-place finish at 285 pounds, scoring a team-high 16 points after advancing to the championship match. Bakersfield also saw multiple podium finishes, highlighted by Luis Acosta-Tackett (141) and Giovanni Ruiz (165), who both placed fifth in their respective weight classes, while Brendon Ko (149) and Elijah Guzman (174) added sixth-place finishes to bolster the team score. Additional contributions came from Seth Seibert, who placed seventh at 285, and several wrestlers who battled through the consolation rounds to earn valuable team points.

The Renegades' performance showcased resilience, closing out the season with multiple state placers and a top-10 team finish on the biggest stage of the year.
