BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — Bakersfield College Wrestling continues to send student-athletes to the next level as four Renegades have committed to continue their academic and athletic careers at four-year institutions. The group includes two women's wrestlers and two men's wrestlers who have left a lasting impact on the BC wrestling program through their accomplishments on the mat, in the classroom, and as leaders within the Renegade family.
Celia Esquivel – St. Ambrose University (NAIA)
Two-time 3C2A State Finalist Celia Esquivel will continue her wrestling career at St. Ambrose University in Davenport, Iowa, one of the nation's premier regions for women's wrestling.
Esquivel played a pivotal role in helping elevate the Bakersfield College women's wrestling program while establishing herself as one of the top wrestlers in the state. Her back-to-back appearances in the 3C2A State Championship finals helped bring recognition to the growing success of the Renegades program. As she heads to Iowa, Esquivel will look to continue making an impact both on the mat and in the classroom while competing at the next level.
Leslie De Anda – Andrew College (NAIA)
Leslie De Anda will continue her collegiate wrestling career at Andrew College in Cuthbert, Georgia.
A two-time 3C2A State placer, De Anda remained an important part of the Renegade program even after her competitive eligibility ended, serving as a student assistant coach during the 2025-26 season. Her leadership, knowledge, and commitment to the team helped mentor the next generation of BC wrestlers. Now returning to competition, De Anda will bring her experience and leadership qualities to the Andrew College program as she continues her wrestling journey in the NAIA ranks.
