Women's Track and Field Compete at Cerritos Open

CERRITOS, CA - Bakersfield College women's track and field continued to show progress this weekend, earning six top-10 finishes and multiple personal-best performances across distance and field events.

Freshman Sofia Moody led the way with an impressive double on the distance side, placing third in the 3000 meters with a personal-best time of 11:02.71 and adding a fifth-place finish in the 1500 meters (5:12.15). Teammate Addyson Eggers secured two top-10 finishes as well, highlighted by a ninth-place run in the 1500 meters (5:35.16 PB) and a 10th-place finish in the 3000 meters (12:19.93).

In the sprints, Marilu Flores just missed the top 10 in the 200 meters, placing 14th with a personal-best 27.15, and also posted a personal-best 13.11 in the 100 meters.

The throwing events also produced strong finishes for the Renegades. Freshman Karly Mundy recorded two top-10 marks, taking sixth in the shot put (9.78m) and seventh in the hammer throw (36.20m). Kaira Hubble added a 10th-place finish in the shot put with a throw of 8.27m.
