Renegade Women Hosts BC Relays

BAKERSFIELD, CA - The Bakersfield College women's track and field team delivered a strong showing this weekend, earning several podium finishes and top-10 marks across both track and field events.

Sophomore Mia Leisenfelder led the distance group with a first-place finish in the 1500 meters, clocking a personal-best time of 5:26.24. Freshman Addyson Eggers followed closely behind, placing second with a personal-best 5:31.52, while Ashley Pitter finished sixth (5:42.05) and Alexis Lopez added another top-10 result with a seventh-place personal-best time of 5:52.07.

Freshman Sofia Moody captured another event victory for the Renegades, winning the 3000m steeplechase with a personal-best time of 12:47.25.

On the track, freshman Marilu Flores had an impressive day in the sprints, finishing second in the 200 meters with a personal-best 26.94 and placing sixth in the 100 meters (13.12). Teammate Journey Lee also recorded strong performances, finishing seventh in the 200 meters with a personal-best 28.70.

The Renegades also found success in the relays. The 4x100 relay team of Rhiyan Patterson, Marilu Flores, Journey Lee, and Cameron Eubanks finished third with a time of 54.45, while the 4x400 relay team of Marilu Flores, Sofia Moody, Journey Lee, and Ashley Pitter also placed third in 4:31.17.

In the field events, freshman Karly Mundy led the throwers with a second-place finish in the hammer throw (35.35m) and added additional top-five marks by placing third in the shot put (9.62m) and fourth in the discus (26.81m). Teammate Kaira Hubble also contributed strong finishes with a third-place mark in the hammer throw (22.19m), sixth in the shot put (8.44m), and sixth in the discus (24.88m). Freshman A'leya Bell added a personal-best throw of 7.84m to place 10th in the shot put and finished seventh in the discus (24.10m PB).

In the jumps, Cameron Eubanks placed fourth in the long jump with a personal-best mark of 4.89 meters.
