MOORPARK, CA - The Bakersfield College women's track and field team competed at the Moorpark Open, highlighted by multiple top-10 finishes and standout performances in the distance events.
Freshman Addyson Eggers led the way with an impressive third-place finish in the 5000 meters, clocking a personal-best time of 20:41.99. Teammate Mia Leisenfelder followed closely behind in fourth place with a personal-best 21:06.83, while Alexis Lopez added another top-10 finish by placing seventh in 21:31.90, also a personal best. The trio showcased the Renegades' depth and strength in long-distance competition.
In the hammer throw, Karly Mundy delivered a strong performance with a seventh-place finish and a personal-best mark of 39.76 meters, representing Bakersfield's top field event result of the meet.
The Renegades also saw solid efforts across the middle-distance events, as Sofia Moody competed in both the 800 meters (15th, 2:36.31) and 1500 meters (11th, 5:17.07), just missing a top-10 finish in the latter
Up next, BC will take a week off to start prepping for the Western State Conference Prelims next Friday and Saturday.
