CULVER CITY, CA - The Bakersfield College men's basketball team battled throughout the night but came up short in a 90–82 loss to West LA on Tuesday evening at the Wildcat Dome.
Bakersfield opened the game strong offensively, shooting efficiently from the field and beyond the arc. The Renegades scored 46 points in the first half and connected on 50 percent of their three-point attempts for the game.
Zykiar Henderson led the way with a double-double, posting 15 points, 12 rebounds, and six assists, while James Miller added 15 points and four assists. Markell Brooks chipped in 11 points and eight rebounds, and Elijah Wade contributed eight points and two assists.
The bench provided valuable production, with Tyron Tyler scoring eight points on a perfect 3-for-3 shooting, including 2-for-2 from three-point range. Damari Davis added nine points, and Godwill Fomusoh recorded seven points and seven rebounds.
Despite Bakersfield's balanced attack and 19 assists as a team, West LA built momentum behind Chase Coleman's 22-point performance and strong second-half shooting. The Wildcats shot 55.6 percent from the field and pulled ahead late to secure the victory.
The Renegades finished the game shooting 46 percent from the floor and out-rebounded West LA 40–34 but were unable to overcome turnovers and timely baskets by the home team.
