Second Half Comeback give Men's Basketball the Win over AVC

BAKERSFIELD, CA - The Bakersfield College men's basketball team secured a hard-fought 66–64 victory over Antelope Valley on Saturday afternoon at the Renegade Athletic Center.

The Renegades trailed 36–33 at halftime before responding with a strong second-half effort, outscoring the Marauders 33–28 to earn the two-point win. Bakersfield shot 50 percent from the field in the second half and controlled the glass, finishing with a 40–28 rebounding advantage.

Markell Brooks led the way with a double-double, posting 22 points and 10 rebounds on 9-of-16 shooting. Elijah Wade added 12 points, seven rebounds, and four assists, while Zykiar Henderson contributed eight points and four rebounds. James Miller directed the offense with five assists, and Zach Garnett pulled down nine rebounds while adding four steals.

Godwill Fomusoh provided a spark off the bench with seven points and two assists, helping Bakersfield maintain momentum in the second half. The Renegades also capitalized on second-chance opportunities, scoring 12 points off offensive rebounds.

Antelope Valley was led by Mister Burnside, who finished with 24 points and 10 rebounds, while Amado Coleman added 15 points. Despite a late push by the Marauders, Bakersfield's defense and rebounding proved decisive down the stretch.

With the win, the Renegades improved to 14–10 overall and 6–4 in conference play and will travel to Glendale on Wednesday, February 11th.
