Renegades’ Season Ends in Overtime Thriller at Palomar in SoCal Regional First Round

PALOMAR, CA - Bakersfield's season came to a heartbreaking end Wednesday night as the Renegades fell 92-89 in overtime to Palomar in the first round of the SoCal Regional playoffs.

After trailing 41-35 at halftime, Bakersfield responded with a strong second half, shooting 50 percent from the field to force overtime tied at 83. The Renegades battled throughout the extra period but were narrowly outscored 9-6 in the final three minutes.

Zykiar Henderson delivered a standout performance in the finale, pouring in 29 points to go along with 13 rebounds and four blocks. Markell Brooks added a dominant effort on the glass with 16 rebounds, while contributing nine points. Zach Garnett scored 12 points, and Damari Davis provided a spark off the bench with 13 points on a perfect 4-for-4 shooting from three-point range.

Bakersfield controlled the boards with a 55-35 rebounding advantage and scored 21 second-chance points, but 27 turnovers led to 26 Palomar points, proving costly in the tight contest.

The loss closes the Renegades' season at 17-12 overall after a hard-fought playoff battle on the road.
