BAKERSFIELD, CA - The Bakersfield College women's basketball team extended its perfect start to the season with a 64–53 victory over LA Mission at the Renegade Athletic Center on Saturday evening.
The Renegades were led by Alexia Ramirez, who recorded a double-double with 14 points and 12 rebounds, while Jamie Neaderbaomer added 19 points, hitting all four of her three-point attempts. Beautiful Vasquez contributed nine points, and Lailene Araniva added 10 points along with two blocks, helping Bakersfield dominate inside and control the paint with 26 points.
Bakersfield established an early lead, outscoring LA Mission 20–12 in the first quarter and maintaining momentum throughout the first half to take a 41–22 advantage at halftime. The Renegades were able to withstand a late third-quarter surge from the Lady Eagles, who were paced by Heart Lising with 13 points and Song Jackson with 13 points, but BC's consistent scoring and rebounding proved decisive.
As a team, the Renegades shot 44.4% from the field and 41.7% from three-point range, while limiting LA Mission to 32.3% shooting and holding them to just 14 points in the paint. The win improves Bakersfield's record to 5–0 overall and 2–0 in conference play, while LA Mission falls to 1–4, 0–2.
Bakersfield will look to carry this momentum into their next matchup at Reedley on Saturday before returning home on Tuesday, November 18th.
