Women's Basketball Wins the Battle of the 65

BAKERSFIELD, CA- The Bakersfield College women's basketball team powered to a dominant 64–33 win over Porterville on Tuesday night at the Renegade Athletic Center, improving to 7–1 on the season. The Renegades controlled the game from start to finish, using defensive pressure and balanced scoring to pull away early.

BC set the tone with a 15–7 first quarter and never looked back, holding Porterville to just 3 points in the second quarter and 10 total points in the first half. The Renegades' defense forced 31 turnovers, converting them into 23 points off takeaways, while also winning the rebounding battle 45–37.

Offensively, Bakersfield was led by Jamie Neaderbaomer, who finished with 15 points, including 3-of-4 from beyond the arc and 5 steals. Alexia Ramirez added 12 points on 6-of-10 shooting, while Danika Tolentino filled the stat sheet with 8 points, 4 assists, and 2 steals. Freshman Lailene Araniva contributed 6 points, 8 rebounds, and 4 assists in a strong all-around performance.

BC's bench continued to provide valuable production, outscoring Porterville's reserves 18–3, with key minutes from Mia Samaniego, Beyoncé Fimbres, and Rachel Greene.

The Renegades exploded for 24 points in the third quarter to put the game out of reach, ultimately shooting 36% from the field and 30% from three while holding Porterville to 31.8% shooting and 0% from deep.

Bakersfield will enjoy the win over Thanksgiving weekend and return to competition play next Thursday for the Santa Ana Tournament.
