Bakersfield Cruises Past Santa Monica, 84–45

BAKERSFIELD, CA - The Bakersfield College Women's basketball team delivered a dominant performance Wednesday night, defeating Santa Monica College 84–45 at the Renegade Athletic Center to improve to 9–6 overall and in conference play.

Bakersfield jumped out to an early lead, holding Santa Monica to just eight points in the opening quarter while building a 20–8 advantage. The Renegades continued to control the tempo in the second quarter, extending the lead to 43–23 at halftime. Bakersfield put the game out of reach in the third quarter, outscoring the Corsairs 26–6 behind efficient shooting and relentless defensive pressure.

Jamie Neaderbaomer led all scorers with 24 points, knocking down six three-pointers on the night. Danika Tolentino followed with 20 points on 9-of-18 shooting, while Lailene Araniva added 10 points and a team-high five assists. Bakersfield also received balanced production across the lineup, finishing with 22 bench points.

The Renegades shot 43.8 percent from the field and an impressive 50 percent from beyond the arc, while holding Santa Monica to 28.6 percent shooting. Bakersfield capitalized on turnovers, scoring 26 points off 20 Corsair miscues, and outscored Santa Monica 28–8 in the paint.

The Renegades will look to carry the momentum forward as they continue conference play when they host West LA on Saturday, January 10th for a 5:00 PM tip-off.
