Strong Start, Stronger Finish: Bakersfield Takes Road Victory

BAKERSFIELD, CA - Bakersfield earned a hard-fought 70–63 road victory over LA Valley on Saturday afternoon, improving to 13–7 overall and 5–1 in conference play.

The Renegades came out sharp on both ends, opening the game with a strong first quarter and building a 24–15 advantage. Bakersfield continued to control the pace in the second period, shooting efficiently and taking a 43–29 lead into halftime.

LA Valley responded with a big third quarter, outscoring Bakersfield 22–10 to cut the deficit to just two heading into the final period. Despite the momentum swing, the Renegades defensively closed the game with a 17–12 fourth quarter to secure the win.

Danika Tolentino led the way for Bakersfield with a game-high 21 points, knocking down four three-pointers while adding eight rebounds. Alexia Ramirez followed with 18 points and seven rebounds, attacking the basket consistently throughout the contest. Lailene Araniva recorded a double-double with 10 points and a team-high 13 rebounds, anchoring the Renegades on the glass.

Jamie Neaderbaomer and Diamond Brownlee each added seven points, while Bakersfield finished with a 40–38 rebounding edge and forced 14 LA Valley turnovers, turning them into 16 points.

LA Valley was paced by Andreya Villa's 18 points, with Valerie Anzora posting a double-double of her own with 12 points and 10 rebounds. The Monarchs' bench provided a spark with 20 points, but Bakersfield's defense limited LA Valley to just 12 points in the fourth quarter.

With the win, Bakersfield remains near the top of the conference standings as the Renegades continue their strong stretch of play.
