CULVER CITY, CA - The Bakersfield College women's basketball team earned a convincing 89–56 victory over West LA on Tuesday night at the Wildcat Dome.
Freshman Danika Tolentino led all scorers with a career night, pouring in 34 points on 13-of-23 shooting, including four three-pointers. She also added six assists and played a key role in setting the tone early for the Renegades.
Jamie Neaderbaomer provided another major spark, finishing with 19 points while knocking down five shots from beyond the arc. Lailene Araniva contributed seven points and six rebounds, while Alexia Ramirez added 13 points and a team-high seven assists to go along with seven rebounds.
Bakersfield jumped out to an early lead, outscoring West LA 28–16 in the first quarter. The Renegades continued to build momentum in the second period, taking a 53–30 advantage into halftime. Strong defense and consistent scoring kept West LA at bay throughout the second half.
The Renegades shot 43.7 percent from the field and 38.5 percent from three-point range, while holding West LA to just 31.0 percent shooting. Bakersfield also forced 18 turnovers and converted those opportunities into key points.
Diamond Brownlee added five rebounds and seven points, while the bench provided valuable minutes and energy to maintain the team's pace throughout the game.
With the win, Bakersfield continues to build momentum as conference play progresses with a 8-1 record. Up next, BC will host Antelope Valley for the Play for Kay game on Saturday, February 7th at 5:00PM.
