VALLEY GLEN, CA - The Bakersfield College women's soccer team stayed unbeaten in conference play with a 2-1 road victory over LA Valley on Tuesday afternoon.
The Renegades struck first in the 31st minute when Giselle Cardenas buried a pass from Jasmine Sandoval to give BC the early edge. After halftime, the Renegades doubled their lead at the 63:06 mark as Kylee Faulkner scored off an assist from Alexandra Gallardo.
LA Valley answered in the 69th minute with a goal, but Bakersfield's defense held firm down the stretch.
Goalkeeper Addyson Evens anchored the backline with five saves, including several key stops in the second half. Both teams finished with 10 shots apiece, but BC's efficiency in front of the goal proved to be the difference.
