LANCASTER, CA - The Bakersfield College women's soccer team battled to a 1–1 draw on the road Friday afternoon against Antelope Valley.
The Renegades struck first in the 24th minute when Delilah Cardenas found the back of the net off an assist from Alexis Juarez, giving BC the early lead. Bakersfield controlled much of the first half, outshooting the Marauders 6–0 and earning the lone corner kick.
Despite strong defensive play throughout the match, Antelope Valley equalized late in the 88th minute to even things up.
Goalkeeper Mercedes Ramirez made one save in the draw, while the Renegades held a 9–4 advantage in shots and a 4–0 edge in corner kicks.
With the result, Bakersfield moves to 8–7–3 overall and 5–3–3 in conference play. BC will head out to Glendale on Tuesday before returning home for its final home match of the season against Citrus for Sophomore Day.
