SANTA ANA, CA - The Bakersfield College women's soccer team saw its remarkable season come to an emotional close on Saturday, falling 1–0 to No. 2 seed Santiago Canyon in the 2nd Round of the SoCal Regionals in Santa Ana. After a scoreless first half anchored by strong defensive work and five combined saves from Mercedes Ramirez and Addyson Evens, the Hawks broke through in the 53rd minute on an unassisted goal by the Hawks, the difference-maker in an otherwise gritty, hard-fought match.
Despite being outshot 21–3, the Renegades battled until the final whistle, showcasing the same resilience and unity that defined the most successful season in program history. Bakersfield closes the year at 11-8-4 overall and 7-3-1 in conference play, marking the program's deepest postseason push and highest achievements to date.
While the road ends here, this group leaves behind a new standard for BC women's soccer and show the 3C2A they are ready to compete next season!
