GLENDORA, CA - The Bakersfield College volleyball team battled back to earn a gritty five-set road win over Citrus College on Wednesday night, defeating the Owls 3–2 (25–22, 17–25, 17–25, 25–17, 15–7).
After dropping the second and third sets, the Renegades regrouped and delivered clutch performances down the stretch to seal the victory and improve to 6–14 overall, 3–3 in WSC play.
Alexandra Watts led the offensive charge with 16 kills, three service aces, and eight total blocks, finishing with a team-high 22.5 points. Anahi King added 12 kills, while Lainey Sterling and Maya Barron contributed six and four kills respectively.
Setter Maya Barron also dished out an impressive 18 assists and three aces, while Taylor Drake led the setting effort with nine assists and two aces. Libero Chloe Lopez anchored the defense with a team-high 25 digs, and Jadah Tyler added to the defensive effort with four block assists.
As a team, Bakersfield recorded 47 kills, 13 aces, and 10 total blocks, holding Citrus to a .131 hitting percentage in the match.
The Renegades will look to carry their momentum into their next matchup as they continue WSC competition but take a much needed rest as BC has a bye on Friday.
