Seth Damron Named Offensive Coordinator

BAKERSFIELD, CA - The Bakersfield College athletics program will like to announce the hiring of Seth Damron as the new offensive coordinator of the Renegade football program. Former OC Carl Dean will still be involved in football, serving as just the quarterback's coach and taking on more administrative duties as the head faculty chair of BC's athletics and kinesiology program.

Damron comes to Bakersfield with tremendous experience from Allan Hancock College, where he spent the past seven years with their football program and served as head coach for the past two seasons. The newly hired OC is no stranger to Bakersfield College. His grandpa and father were former coaches of BC, and he, himself, is also a former Renegade athlete who played from 2005-2007. " I spent my entire childhood at Bakersfield College, attending practices and games, and BC has always been a special place for me. Even as a little kid, I always dreamed of coming back and one-day coaching," said Damron. "I am glad I can move my family back and raise my kids with their grandpa."

Seth Damron said coming back to Bakersfield College to coach is surreal. He's motivated to help the program succeed to get them back on track to the winning program it once was. "It was not that long ago the program was really great, it's doable, and we can do it fast. I hope to help the program and have a role in helping the students on the way to be motivated to move on to play at the university level."

The 2023 season will begin on September 1st at Golden West College. BC will host its home opener against Long Beach City College the following week, September 9th. Unless shown otherwise, all home games are played at Memorial Stadium with a 6:00 pm kickoff.
