"We were able to limit their shots in overtime, and we we got ourselves to the line," Assistant Coach Aaron Chavez said, "And when we didn't make the free throws, we made the offensive rebounds and that was the key to the win."
Jamar Hammonds scored 27 points off the bench, to lead all scorers, and chipped in 10 rebounds while Sean Leflore made two of his ten points count more than most.
The Renegades were down by two points with 3.8 seconds remaining in regulation when Jamar Hammonds inbounded the ball to Leflore who was near half court.
"Le Flore dribbled about a step and put up a desperation three and drew a foul," Chavez said.
Le Flore went to the line and missed his first shot, but nailed the second and third to send the game to overtime.
BC played aggresive basketball in the overtime periods, limiting Mt. SAC's scoring attempts and while drawing fouls on their own moves to to the basket.
"Late in the second overtime, we missed two free throws, but Hammonds got the offensive rebound and immediately drew another foul. That was pretty much the formula for our win," Chavez said.
