Brian Carter was a hard-working, selfless, Assistant Coach that helped Coach Rich Hughes get established in his first years as BC's Head Coach. But Coach Carter was also a beloved family member and all-around good man, and Hughes and BC Basketball will honor all of those facets immediately following Saturday's 3p game against Santa Monica.

During a recent appearnce on "The Renegade Report", Hughes said the team will present Carter's family with some keepsakes to honor his memory and generous contributions of self to the success of student athletes from Bakersfield College and across Kern County.

Carter's life was cut short in a tragic car accident in the fall of 2016. He was Head Coach of South High Basketball at the time, and Hughes said the loss has been difficult for the community, but inconcievably difficult for his family, and he hopes the celebration of his "servant's heart" brings them even a small measure of comfort.

A reception for the exchange of memories and goodwill may follow in the Fireside Room in Campus Center.
