The Bakersfield College Men's Basketball team (20-9) has been seeded 9th in Southern California, and will open postseason play Friday, February 24th at #8 Chaffey College.

"I'm pleasantly surprised," Coach Rich Hughes said, "Obviously, we'd prefer to open the playoffs at home, but some of those losses earlier this season haunted us."

Seven of BC's nine losses came by three points or less, and two of those seven came in overtime.

"I can't remember a season where we had so many games decided in the last minute, or in overtime," Hughes said, "But in these seeding meetings, they don't care how the result came about; an 'L' is a loss is a loss."

Preseason polls had BC as the lowest ranked team in their conference, but a core group of four sophomores led the young Renegades to back to back titles for the first time since BC joined the Western State Conference during it's formation in 1981.
