Men's Soccer Opens Up 2019 With a Win

Bakersfield, CA – The Renegade Men's Soccer team opened the 2019 season hosting West Hills Lemoore at home on Tuesday, August 27th at the BC Soccer Field and came away with a strong 2-0 victory.

The first goal of the season came in the 29th minute from a header by Christian Gonzalez off an assist by Omar Reyes-Madrid. At the break BC led 1-0.

Gilberto Guevara had a near-miss header off the left post in the 59th minute that would have padded the Renegade lead. In 84th minute, BC's Vitor Silva did put a second goal in as he snuck past the West Hills keeper and put the shot in the back of the net.

Defensively, BC Goalkeeper Armando Alvarez made a few key saves throughout the game to preserve the shutout and home opening win for the Renegades.

With the win, the they move to 1-0-0 on the season. Up next, they travel to play at College of the Desert this Friday (8/30) at 4:00pm.
