Men's Soccer Ties Visiting Glendale

Bakersfield, CA – The Renegade Men's Soccer team hosted the Glendale Vaqueros at the BC Soccer Fields on Tuesday afternoon in their second conference match and came away with a 2-2 tie.

Mubelele Mhango put the Renegades ahead early in the 8th minute with his 5th goal of the year off an assist by Victor Murillo when he found the back of the net from inside the right box. The Vaqueros netted an equalizer in the 30th minute to tie the game at 1-1. In the 43rd minute goalie Armando Alvarez made a huge block on a Glendale penalty kick to go into the half with the tie intact.

Glendale went up 2-1 in the 61st minute on a goal that was answered back eight minutes later by the Renegades to tie it back up at 2-2. A few minutes later, both teams were then given red cards on a scuffle that broke out in the BC box, resulting in an ejection for Bryan Gil and a Marauder.

With the tie, the Renegades move to 7-5-2 on the season and 1-1 in conference. Up next, they head to the road to play at Citrus this Friday (10/25) at 3:00pm.
