Men's Soccer Takes Victory in First Game Back

Bakersfield, CA - The 2019 Western State Conference Champion Renegade Men's Soccer team wasted no time claiming their first victory of the Spring I abbreviated season, 4-2 over College of the Sequoias.

The last time the Renegades touched the pitch was in November 2019, well over a year ago and just months before the world slid into the COVID-19 pandemic. You wouldn't have guessed that they lost a step in the last 15 months though as they netter two quick goals by Jihoon Yun and Kevin Ramos to take a quick 2-0 lead. At the half, COS had contributed a goal of their own to cut the lead to 2-1.

In the second, the Renegades never lost the lead and Miguel Ceja and Angel Cervantes both scored their first goals of the season to put BC further ahead 4-1. The Giants were able to add one more goal of their own, but could not produce further and BC came away with their first victory of the Spring I season.

Next up, they will travel to play at COS tomorrow at 1pm.
