Softball Falls to San Mateo

Bakersfield, CA – The Bakersfield College softball team hosted the College of San Mateo in the first game of a doubleheader on Sunday at the Dean and Adah Gay Sports Complex and came away with a 7-1 loss.

San Mateo scored the first runs of the game in the second run when they put four across the plate to jump ahead. Natilee Parrish got the Renegades on the board in the 4th with a solo homerun over the right center fence to cut the lead to 4-1.

The Bulldogs added a run off a pass ball in the 6th to extend the lead which became final after the 7th at 7-1.

Natilee Parrish got the start at pitcher for the Renegades and pitched five innings before being relieved by Kylee Fahy in the 6th who finished the game for the Renegades.

With the loss, BC drops to 1-1 on the season.
