BC played tough, but an incredible offensive outburst from American River snapped a six game win streak at the Monterrey Tournament.

The Bakersfield College Women's Basketball team saw their six-game winning streak snapped in day one of the Monterrey Tournament with a 70-65 loss to American River College (8-5).

Mackenzie te Velde scored a career-high 27 points and 15 rebounds on nine of 11 shooting from the field in leading all scorers, but American River had a pair of scorers in the twenties. 

Deja Samuels scored 26 for American River, while teammate Alana Myers poured on 23 to account for more than two thirds of the team's total points. 

BC will look to bounce back tomorrow night against Las Positas College.
