Carl Ferreira

Carl started at BC in 2005 and is the head coach for both the Renegade women’s volleyball and beach volleyball programs.

Before coming to BC, Carl was the head coach at the University of Oregon (2000-2005), the University of Idaho (1997-2000) and CSU Bakersfield (1994-1997). Prior to that, he was an assistant coach at Stanford (1994), assistant coach for girls and head coach for boys at Clovis HS (1992-94) and an assistant at CSU Fresno (1991). He also served as a High School/Club Director from 1985-1991.

One of the professional highlights of his career, Carl was professionally coached by former NBA head coach Rolland Todd. As a former NCAA Division I Head Coach, he has recruited nationally and internationally. He has published a workbook, What Makes Winners Win Lies Within that he utilizes each season with his teams.  He has worked professionally with both a cognitive psychologist and sports psychologist, to assist in peak performance training. He has completed both the Unbeatable Mind training program and the High Performance Academy training program.  In addition, he designed and developed an AirPhase Trampoline Attack Training Program.

He attended school and played basketball at Santa Rosa Junior College in Santa Rosa, CA. He holds a B.S. from California State University, Fresno.

He finds it a privilege to represent BC as an academic institution of higher education with a rich 100-year legacy of success and an honor to coach, mentor and influence student-athletes. He sees it as his primary responsibility to impact people, not coach volleyball.

Originally, from Hilo, HI, Carl resides in Bakersfield with his wife, Ellen Bugalski-Ferreria. He has three children Kyle, Chad and Elise.
