MacKenzie Tevelde had 29 points and 17 rebounds to lead the Bakersfield College women's basketball team to a 71-53 victory over West LA at the Gil Bishop Sports Center on Wednesday night.


Tevelde was 13 of 18 from the floor for the Renegades, who trailed 11-8 before going on a 16-4 run to close out the first half and take command of the game.

"We played great team basketball," BC coach Paula Dahl said. "I was really proud of them. MacKenzie Tevelde, what a breakout game...I thought tonight was one of our best overall team performances."

McKaiela Tyler had 18 points seven assists and six rebounds for BC (6-17, 5-8 WSC),  playing its final home game of the season.

Tyler had all of her points in the first half. She had only one field goal attempt after the intermission.

Zhane Carter paced the Wildcats (7-19, 3-10 WSC) in scoring with 28 points.
